Norv Turner heading to San Diego

Perhaps I should have titled this blog, "Norv Turner heading to San Diego as Head Coach." After 12 abysmal years of being an NFL Head Coach, recently ending his stint with the 49ers, Norv has managed to land yet another head coach position (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norv_Turner). If Norv can not produce with superbowl caliber talent, I venture this could (should) be his last chance at head coach.

It seems after so many years of failure at head coach and many great successes at offensive coordinator, one should realize that he should be an offensive coordinator; however, this personal lucidity seems to elude Norv.

Norv should have been hired as San Diego's offensive coordinator, not head coach.

Ninjatickets.com release party announced. What is The College Forecast?

Ninjatickets.com is hosting a release party this Summer on Maryland's Easton Shore (think Wedding Crashers). Invitations are expected to be mailed in the next 90 days. Activities will include boat rides, tennis, volleyball, live bands and DJ's, Real Eastern Shore food (think blue crabs), and full bar (think hypnotic, hey its got to match the crabs right?).

My friend Brian Whittaker is rocking this free college music site. Let me know what you guys think of it. Here's the address and a letter he wrote about it for the blog. If you would like your site on this blog, please let me know and I might put it up if its a good site.

Music Lovers:

* Sign up for free

Our goal is to promote the music and talent of college students around the world. If music is an interest of yours, you have come to the right place. What’s the story behind the college forecast, what’s it all about? The musical talent of an R.I.T. student inspired the creation of The College Forecast. The creator believed his roommate had the potential to produce songs catchy enough to be heard on the radio. Unfortunately, he had no connections in the music business that could share his roommate’s talent with the world. And with that The College Forecast was born.

Marty Schottenheimer fired.

Marty Schottenheimer was fired from the San Diego Chargers after leading the team to a league best regular season record of 14-2, and losing to the New England Patriots in the AFC playoffs. After hearing the news, I have to ask, was Danny boy (Snyder) right to fire him in the first place or did the Chargers make a huge mistake?

I think the jury is out, after seeing Peyton Manning win the Super Bowl, I think its possible for Marty to win one too. On the other hand he only seems effective when the front office has a tight leash on him and doesn't allow him to employ his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews to run the rest of the team.

Whatever the story is, I have a feeling that there's a fair amount to this iceberg that the public is not privy to.

Getting Windows Vista x64 and Palm Pilot to Work together

-by www.ninjatickets.com Copyrighted 2007-02-08

After many hours of struggling with palm and Vista x64 I think I have finally figured out how to make them work together. I haven’t seen this on the web anywhere, so please forgive me if I’m repeating someone else.

First as you know Vista x64 does not support USB hotsync but does support Network hotsync. So set up a network hotsync by pointing your Palm to the ip address of the computer you’re running palm desktop on. This is covered by others so I will move on.

Second download the newest version of Docs to Go, the one that came with your palm will only cause failures on Vista. Right click on Docs to Go, hotsync manager, and palm desktop and select the following for each properties -> compatibility -> check the box for run in compatibility mode and select XP SP2. Right click each again, and click “run as administrator.” Also if you see any miss-pointed shortcuts (not including the x86) its best to correct them now.

Third make sure Docs to Go is open before you start a hotsync, and make sure you have at least one new entry on the palm pilot. That is edit anything on the palm from calendar, or contacts. Make sure no Docs to Go entries are currently open.

This should work to hotsync a newer palm with Windows x64.
